is your first musical memory ?
Richard
Chartier : I am not sure. i do vividly remember my first record.
"batman vs the scarecrow" 7" it was a story on record but it had great
sound effects that i remember really liking alot.
Which
artist or song has "affected" your childhood ?
My
mother had a copy of "autobahn" by kraftwerk... i think that might
be the influential one..
Did
you think of working in music ? What did you really want to become
later ?
As
a child i wanted to be a botanist or landscaper...
Are
there any disturbing or nice sounds that have "affected" your
childhood ?
Growing
up... my chair at the kitchen table leaned against the refridgerator..
i used to put my ear up to it and listen to it... i liked the sounds
of the fridge and air conditioner units in motels ( i still do).
Did
your parents give you a musical education ?
No
Can
you tell us about a musical memory of your childhood (a concert, a
show..) ?
I
remember having to perform a song dressed as a tiger in a play and
being so scared i could go on stage because i was crying. i remember
being at disneyland in california and liking the music that they used
for the 'electric parade" (which turns out was some perrey & kingsley)
and loving all the sound effects in the ride "journey into inner space"
which they have since removed from the park.
