JadeWeb : What is your first musical memory ?
Watching tubeway army on top of the pops perfaorming are friends electric? in 1979.it was like a swirl of electronics and really fat sounding synths....really powefull music.. It blew me away.my mother bought me the pleasure principle not long after that..thats my first brush with music...i had heard other music but up until then nothin had really spoken to me.

Which artist or song has "affected" your childhood ?
Id have to say Gary Numan...i soon went off him and started buying John Foxx and Depeche mode records..i also liked David Sylvian and still do.

Did you think of working in music ? What did you really want to become later?
I always knew as a small child that i was gonna be a musician..i used to play my uncles piano in his pub just to amuse myself...i was makin up compisistions when i was 10 yrs old.like really fucked songs that would annoy everyone..i used to try and remeber them but could never as they were very experimentl pieces...i guess what im doin now is fleshing out those old ideas.

Are there any disturbing or nice sounds that have "affected" your childhood ?
As a child i think throbbing gristle sent out some disturbing transmissions that feaked me out and facinated me...Canaxis by Holger Czukay was the one that made everything bearable, as did the pleasure principle bu numan...that album still sounds fresh tody.

Did your parents give you a musical education ?
No..they thought all the music i was intrested in was weird and didnt hold much musical content...my parents come from a non related musical background.

Can you tell us about a musical memory of your childhood (a concert, a show..) ?
1983 at Manchester apollo i went to watch Gary Numan on his warriors tour... I was really amazed at the stage show and numans image. Looking at it today it looks a bit shit.
